Review:

I didn't know exactly what to expect when I got The Mason Jar by James Russell Lingerfelt. I ended up with a creative love story that drew me in and held my attention.

At first, this story was a little confusing because it starts off with Eden talking to a friend about a book written about her. It was written by her college ex. Then Eden gets a copy of the book and we are reading the book she is reading. The story then ends after she (and we) finish the book. While this was a little confusing at first because it was different from other books I have read, I found it really creative. The way the story was written really pulled me in. I think I am a sucker for this particular writing style.

Through the story Eden was reading, I felt the characters come to life. I felt their pain and confusion. I enjoyed this story and I am looking forward to the next book by Lingerfelt.

James Russell Lingerfelt's debut novel, The Mason Jar, is hot-off-the-press and causing quite the buzz. It's even been optioned for a feature film and is in pre-production.
