I take a lot of pictures. Actually taking time and doing something with those photos can sometimes be challenging. The new app for the Mac from PearlMountain, Scrapbook Crafter, can help with this problem.
I have reviewed a number of apps from PearlMountain and this app seemed to have a very similar feel and look as their other apps. I think this is helpful as I was able to quickly pick up the flow of this app.
While I only spent a few minutes playing around with the app, I was able to get a good feel for the cool features.
When I first opened this app, I was presented with a screen like this. I liked that I was able to start with a blank slate, but I wanted a template to work off of. On the left, there is a list of categories to choose from. There were a number of different kits that I could choose from.
I found the selection to be pretty good. I'm not sure there were a lot I would personally use, but I did think there was a good selection to choose from.
Once I selected a kit, I started to see what I could customize. I really liked that I was able to change pretty much everything with the layout. It took me a couple minutes to figure out exactly how to change things, but I made some adjustments. I had photos on my desktop, so I just dropped them in the grey photo boxes. I also changed the wording just because I could.
Here you can see the changes I made. If I was making a page I really wanted to keep, I would have added some more text, or even a text box.
I was pretty impressed when I found the embellishments. I thought the selection of choices was good. I found these really easy to add to my page. I just found the one I wanted to add and then just dropped it on the page. I could then resize the embellishment.
I also liked the different frames that were available.
As you can see, I changed the background as well as some of the other design images and then made another page. I really liked how I was able to customize these pages. I found the app pretty easy to use. I think many new users will need some time to get familiar with the app and what all it does, but I kept finding new things I could do as I was testing it.
