Having searched for good, solid devotionals for a few years now I was excited for the ESV Daily Devotional New Testament: Through the New Testament in a Year when I found out about it.

I have been using The ESV Study Bible for years now and I absolutely love the features and notes. I also have found it overwhelming to follow different Bible Reading Plans that have me jumping from one book to another.

In looking for good devotionals, I have struggled finding one that I really like. I have seen many that are really watered down or don’t get me into the Bible. It’s probably more me finding the devotional that really connects with me more than it is a poor selection.

This new ESV devotional is exactly what I have been looking for. It is broken down by day and then the different Bible passages are all together in one spot for me. I don’t have to go to different books, I can just sit down and read the section for the day.

I love the “Thoughts for Prayer” section and the reflection section. I find both of these to help me dive deeper when reading.

My only complaint about this devotional is the thinness of the pages. I’m sure it would have been more expensive to print on thicker paper, but that would have made this devotional even better.

That said, I love this devotional and can’t wait to finish going through it. I love the features and the way it mixes Bible reading with commentary and prayer in a simple and easy to follow way.
