The fireplace is crackling, your favorite Christmas music is playing, and you are full of life and excitement. That’s what it felt like as I looked through The Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Ace Collins.

This book gives the reader 31 days of Christ-filled readings and ideas for the Christmas season. Each daily section is about 5 to 6 pages. They include Bible verses, a short devotional, a Christmas song, and an idea of something to do for someone else.

I really enjoyed the daily readings I read through. I felt the joy and peace of Christmas come over me. I felt transported through all of the great things about the Christmas season.

I found the musical sections really interesting to read. I love that the book includes more than just the lyrics of the songs, but something little about them or the author.

I enjoyed the idea of doing something for someone else, however I’m sure the book set this up in the most practical way. For example, on one day you are supposed to make cookies. What if you don’t have the ingredients? I think it would have been beneficial to give a weekly supply list so I don’t have to skip ahead to see what I want to do. It’s not a big deal, but it would have been nice.

I really enjoyed this book and the way it put me in the Christmas mood. My favorite part is the music addition to the daily readings. There is just something about it that sticks with me and makes me want to read it.
